Trends in wedding cakes for 2009 by Art Eats Bakery

Art Eats Bakery, Greenville, SC http://www.arteatsbakery.com/
Most Brides today are going with a three or four tier cake even if they have a big wedding. Sheet cakes are made to serve the remainder of the guest. The sheet cakes are not on display with the main cake and are cut and served at the same time. The cake is layered in the same manner as the bides cake on the inside and no one knows that their piece didn't come from the Brides cake. This can really reduce the cost of the cake.
Square cakes are also very popular. The two pictured above are fondant covered cakes. This is also the going trend. The fondant covered cake has a softer edge.
